Shipping Days
Our shipping days are Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.
This makes it more likely that orders will be received before Sunday
and avoids shipments getting held over on Sunday.

• Orders Placed Tuesday Ship Wednesday
• Orders Placed Wednesday before 11am (PST) Ship Wednesday
• Orders placed Wednesday after 11am through Sunday Ship Monday
If your order is placed before 11am (PST) and sometimes after on Monday and Tuesday,
we will make every effort to ship your order on that same day.
Signature Confirmation
Express mail shipments include signature confirmation.
Priority mail shipments do not.
Someone must be home to receive/sign for the
express mail shipment on the first delivery attempt for our live guarantee to remain
effective. If no one is home to receive the order, the live guarantee
will be voided and a note will be left informing you that it is being
held at your local carrier station. Please pick up your
shipment as soon as possible.
You may waive the express mail signature confirmation by noting so
in the comment section of the order form, but do
so at your own risk. This will void our live
guarantee, even if someone was home when the shipment arrived.
This is because the insurance that is included with express mail
requires the signature confirmation.
Also, please note that some mail carriers will disregard the "waive signature" note
on the package label and may still require a signature. We cannot be responsible for delay or loss
in such a circumstance.
Shipping Methods
We offer USPS Priority and USPS Express shipping as our standard shipping
service. Since silkworms and fruitflies are a perishable good, we do not offer USPS standard parcel post because shipment may
take too long. We highly recommend that you choose express mail as your shipping method because
live delivery is guaranteed. Live delivery is also guaranteed for priority mail. However,
if the priority mail shipment takes longer than three days to reach you, the live
guarantee is downgraded. Please see our Live Guarantee page
for details.
USPS Express Mail: Overnight to two-day
service (depending on your location) which includes tracking and proof of delivery.
Express Mail is delivered 365 days a year with no extra charge for
Saturday, Sunday, or holiday delivery. Express Mail tracking is available on the USPS Web.
Recipients must be home to sign for the express mail
package, otherwise, your live guarantee and the USPS insurance will be voided, and the package will be held at your USPS carrier station.
USPS Priority Mail:
Priority Mail generally offers 2-3 day service to most domestic destinations
and one day delivery to some locations. However, the USPS
does not guarantee a 3 day delivery time. Includes
delivery to every address in the United States—including PO Boxes
and military addresses.

Prices for shipping are calculated according to:
• The weight of your order
• The destination zip code where you live
• The zip code we ship from (92110)
• The USPS service you choose (priority or express mail)
On the store checkout page, you will see the shipping charge.
You will have the opportunity to change shipping methods before
completing your order. The shipping amount may include a handling charge.
Payment
Orders cannot be shipped until payment is received and/or
verified. We accept personal checks, money orders, MasterCard, Visa and American Express.

Heat Packs
Live in a HOT/COLD area?
The heat / cold shouldn't be a problem, unless the product is shipping
to areas of 90° and above or under 40° F.
We do not use cold packs because they don't provide any protection. We do ship orders
with heat packs during the cold season. Heat packs are $2.50 plus 1 lb. extra shipping weight.
It is the responsibility of the customer to order a heat pack.

If Shipment is to high temperatures of 90° and above or under 40°,
we cannot offer a live guarantee. Please see our Live Guarantee
page for more details.
Terms of Use
The Silkworm Shop may refuse or limit your order for any reason. By placing your order, you agree to accept
all terms and conditions set forth anywhere on this site, including The Silkworm Shop's

The Silkworm Shop reserves the right to accept, refuse, or limit your order for any reason, including, but not limited to,
credit review, the unavailability of a product, errors in the prices and product descriptions posted on this web site
and failure to answer emails from The Silkworm Shop regarding your order. By placing your order, you agree that
The Silkworm Shop's total liability, under any legal theory or claim, shall be limited to the purchase price actually
paid to The Silkworm Shop for the product giving rise to The Silkworm Shop's liability.
Returns
Living Items cannot be returned.
Non-Living items can
be returned at the buyer's expense for exchange. You will
be issued a store credit for the amount of the returned product.
The original shipping amount will not be credited.

Order Cancellations
All orders that are cancelled after being placed will incur a
$2.50 service charge.
Ordering from Hawaii and Foreign Countries
Live insects cannot be shipped to Hawaii without a permit.
At this time, we cannot ship to foreign countries.
